Original comic artwork is camera ready production art created specifically to be reproduced. Though it varies, most comic art is sized at least 200% larger than the final printed size. Bristol board is the preferred surface. The most common medium and tools are inks and Gouache paint applied with pen and brush on top of a pencil under drawing. Sometimes grey-tone films ("Zippatone" and "Letraset" are 2 poplular brand names) are hand cut and applied on the art to create grey areas. Over time this film turns yellow.
