After graduating from Pratt institute as an art major, Myron Waldman entered the Golden Age of Animation in 1930 as an inker/opaquer at Max Fleisher Studios. In 1934, Waldman became head animator at Fleischer's, drawing such favorites as BETTY BOOP, POPEYE, RAGGEDY ANN, THE BOUNCING BALL SCREEN SONGS, and the classic SUPERMAN cartoons.

Besides creating Betty Boop's little dog PUDGY and the mother and son donkeys HUNKY and SPUNKY, Waldman was a sequence director for the Fleischer features MR. BUGS GOES TO TOWN and GULLIVER'S TRAVELS. Waldman was also head animator for two of the four Fleischer cartoons nominated for Academy Awards, HUNKY AND SPUNKY and EDUCATED FISH.

After a three year stint in the U.S. Army, Waldman spent the next decade at Paramount's Famous Studios, specializing in their biggest star, CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST.

From 1958 to 1968, Waldman was a director at Hal Seeger Productions where his work included the syndicate TV revival of Fleischer's OUT OF THE INKWELL series starring KOKO THE CLOWN, and the 1965-67 ABC Saturday morning series, MILTON THE MONSTER.

In addition to his career in animation, Waldman drew the 1940's comic strip HAPPY THE HUMBUG, and authored EVE: A PICTORIAL LOVE STORY. He has lectured on animation at Columbia University and the New School and appeared on network TV shows.

Mr. Waldman was the winner of the 1997 Windsor McCay Award - Hollywood's salute to his lifetime achievement in the field of animation. This is the highest award an animator can receive.

Myron resided in Long Island with his wife Rosalie until his passing in February 2006. His style and creativity will influence animation for generations to come.
