Neal Adams

Neal Adams

Neal Adams is an artist who works primarily in comic books and has helped define the modern look of many DC comics characters, most especially Batman, Superman, and Green Arrow. Adam's unique and realistic style has remained popular in comics for decades. In 1962, Adams began his comics career at the NEA newspaper syndicated drawing Ben Casey, before moving on to comics during what became known as the silver age of comic books. Adams broke tradition by publicly working for DC and Marvel comics at the same time, when no other artist was willing to. Adams broke further ground in Green Lantern/Green Arrow where controversial topics such as racism, overpopulation, pollution, and drug addiction were addressed on a monthly basis. Adams was inducted into the Eisner Award's Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame in 1998, and the Harvey Awards' Jack Kirby Hall of Fame in 1999.
